Can Trailer Brake Assemblies 23-112-113 be Submerged Under Water and Still Work
Question:
I was looking to convert our hydraulic surge brakes to electric on our military M1102 trailer. I have seen that some others have used 23-113 and 23-112 to convert but still retain the manual parking brake feature. This will be for an overland/go anywhere style trailer. There will be MANY river/creek fordings with our use case. My main question is that I just want to verify how well these electric brakes deal with water. The last thing we need is our brakes locking up when we are literally in the middle of nowhere without services anywhere nearby. Thanks in advance!

Helpful Expert Reply:
The left and right trailer brake assemblies part # 23-112-113 would do great with water like you mentioned. These are installed on boat trailer all the time which get regularly submerged without any issue so I would not anticipate anything negative with your setup.
