Replacment for Atwood Landing Gear on 1997 AlpenLite 5th Wheel
Question:
I am working on 1997 Alpenlite fifth wheel. I bent the drivers side landing gear. It says Attwood 6/5/1996 on the motor. The dimensions of the outer black tube are 2.5 x 2.5 x 29.5. It is not connected to the other jack. It has stand alone switches for each jack. There are motors bolted to each jack. I only want to replace one leg and reuse the motor for this leg. Do you sell a replacement?

Unfortunately, we don't offer a single replacement leg of that type that would have a motor on each leg.
Your best bet would be to replace your existing landing gear with something like the Stromberg Carlson # LG-3 or # LG-4 which has the same sized legs, 29-1/2 inches in length and and outer dimension of 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches. The landing gear have a 6500 lb combined capacity.
This system and its parts were designed to be compatible replacements for most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.
I've linked to a video showing my buddy Randy explain how to determine which of the two you'll need.
