Recommended 7-way Connector For 2015 Ford Explorer Without Towing Package
Question:
I plan to purchase your e98867 hitch for my 2015 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD/AWD. What 7-way wiring harness and mount do I need? Do you have a wiring harness with both 7-way / 4-way connections? If not, what adapter do you have to convert 7-way to 4-way? Thanks

I would be happy to recommend a 7-way connector for your 2015 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD/AWD.
I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56306 which will plug into the factory connectors of your Explorer even though you do not have the towing package, and will give you a 7-way connector. To mount the connector to the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98867 you will need the no drill mounting bracket # 18140, and mounting bracket # C67UR.
When you need to use a 4-way connector you will need to use the 7-way to 4-way adapter # 47345.
If you are also needing a trailer brake controller I recommend taking a look at the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 which will plug directly into your new 7-way connector and will not require you to run any wires to the passenger compartment of your vehicle, or drill any holes to mount the controller.
Lastly if you do not already have a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes two ball mounts, two hitch balls, two hitch pins and clips, and a carrying case.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
