Roof Tent Options For 2017 ProMaster 2500 CamperVan

Question:

I have a Ram Promaster 2500 that is a converted campervan. Roadtrek Simplicity SRT. I want to mount a rooftop tent for my kids. Do you have a rack system you could recommend that would have the capacity for that? Ive seen some on the website that say the capacity is 220 lbs, but assume Id need more. I dont know if that capacity is overall capacity...period, or overall capacity for a moving vehicle. So, I would need a rack that can accommodate the tent while driving, but also support two people sleeping inside when parked. I hope that makes sense. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks.

You will also need Rhino-Rack RLTP Legs # RRRLTPFD and RLTP Leg Adapters # RRVA-FK1-2 to install the crossbars. This has a weight capacity of 165lbs, which is the highest weight capacity of any roof rack for your vehicle. The Yakima SkyRise Tent weighs about 100lbs, leaving you with only 65lbs of recommended weight to be added when vehicle is moving. You will not have to worry about the 165lb weight capacity when the Van is stationary so this would work well for you.
