How To Bypass Factory Brake Controller on 2015 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Can you elaborate further on how to bypass the itbc and it’s annoying alarms. I Have the P3 and the wiring harness 3016 and it looks very simple however I understand there is an additional wire to be run ? To bypass the itbc? Where does that wire plug/wire into the p3? Thanks

I'd be happy to help with that. You'll need to run your own output wire from the rear of the brake controller through the firewall, under the vehicle back to the trailer connector.
Install the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 as usual, but before plugging the # 3016 brake control harness into the vehicle, cut the blue wire on the harness, strip it back and connect a length of # 10-1-1 wire long enough to pass through the firewall, through the engine compartment, under the vehicle back to the trailer connector. Be sure to avoid anything that's hot or moving, like suspension or exhaust components. Zip tying the wire to an existing wiring harness that runs along the driver's side frame rail works best.
Once at the rear of the vehicle, go to the rear of the 7-way connector and peel back the tape/wire loom on the wiring harness. Find the dark blue wire exiting the back of the trailer connector and cut it about 6 inches forward of the trailer connector. Connect that blue wire exiting the rear of the trailer connector to the blue wire you ran from the front of the vehicle which will completely bypass the ITBC (factory brake controller).
At that point, plug the # 3016 into the junction box under the dash and you'll be good to go. I'll link you to a article that explains the process.
