We have had questions about installing a Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver on a GMC Thomas Built School Bus.
Since there are not any custom fit trailer hitch receivers for the Thomas Built School Bus you will need to use a universal hitch like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver - Weld On - Class V # 41990-16 which fits frames up to 44" wide.
The # 41990-16 has a 1600lb tongue weight rating, and a 16000lbs trailer weight rating but you will want to verify the ratings of your GMC Thomas Built School Bus and use the lower rating between the vehicle and trailer hitch receiver.
Since the # 41990-16 is not a custom fit hitch it will require some fabrication to fit, and can be either bolted or welded to the frame of your vehicle.
You may also be interested in a heavy duty ball mount # BWBMHD30011, 2" hitch ball # A-90, 2-5/16" hitch ball # BWHB94050, and a trailer hitch receiver lock # e98881 to keep your ball mount secured to your vehicle.
I included a video review for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
