Recommended Towing Products Needed To Tow Utility Trailer W/ 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Hello! Love your website. Can you tell me if these two items will be good for my 2019 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid? 989900 C13416 Im looking to tow this trailer, a Karavan 6x10 utility trailer #KHD- 2990-60-10-RR: Do I need anything else? Also, are these easy to install or should I be taking it to a shop?

Starting with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416 you were looking at, that is a fantastic choice for towing your 6'x10' Karavan Utility Trailer since it has a 600lb tongue weight rating and 4000lb trailer weight rating. Also since it has a 2" receiver you will be able to not only tow a trailer, but also be able to use multiple different bike racks or cargo carriers in the future if needed.

You are also correct that you will need a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin in clip which is all found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 you mentioned.

The only thing missing is a vehicle wiring harness to connect to the trailer. If you do not already have on I recommend the Curt Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56434 which will plug into your factory wiring harness, and give you the 4-way connector needed to power your trailer lights.

Regarding the installation you could absolutely complete the installation for all of these products at home with basic tools and a little time. If you are not comfortable doing this kind of work then I recommend having a local automotive repair shop complete the install for you.
