Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer With Brakes Using a 2020 Subaru WRX
Question:
I am going to be purchasing a camper trailer and will be towing it with a 2020 Subaru WRX. The camper weighs 1,900 lbs dry. I will need trailer hitch and a way to have a 7 way trailer harness to charge the camper battery and have brakes and turn signals on camper. One of my concerns is that I only see 4 way connectors for my specific needs and your site contains many different 4 to 7 adapters.

In order to setup a 2020 Subaru WRX for towing a trailer with brakes you'll first need a trailer hitch for which I recommend the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7257.
Then you can add the wiring, the Curt Wiring Harness part # C56259 would be what you need to start as that's all that is available but you can easily convert this 7-way using the 4 to 7-Way and 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L. This kit also comes with everything you need to add a wireless brake controller for which I recommend the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller part # C51180.
There are safety chain loops built-into the hitch for safety chains to attach. They are on the bottom of each side.
