Recommended Trailer Receiver Hitch For 2004 Infiniti FX35
Question:
I just bought an ebike, and need to add a trailer hitch to my 2004 Infiniti FX-35 so I can add a Thule bike rack. Will this work, and who canI get to install it? Thank you,

Adding a trailer hitch to your 2004 Infiniti FX35 to accommodate a Thule bike rack will absolutely work. I recommend going with Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13558. This will be tucked neatly under the bumper of your vehicle, providing a clean look while preventing anyone from hitting their leg on it. Curt does require Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap for Hitch-Mounted Accessories # 18050 to be used on non-trailered loads, such as a bike rack.
The installation process does not require welding but does require some drilling. Everything necessary for installation is included. If this is not something you want to tackle yourself, then it is always recommended to find a local mechanic shop that can install it for you. I have attached a detailed installation video for both of these products.
If you do not have a bike rack, I highly recommend the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # TH903202. This is suitable for 2 electric bikes with a weight capacity of 65lbs per bike and it has a handy ramp to make loading easy. I have attached a demonstration video for this bike rack.
