Will the Curt and etrailer Hitches for 2019 Ford Escape Allow Hands Free Liftgate Functioning
Question:
I just need to confirm compatibility of either your E98866 or Curt C13186 on my 2019 Ford Escape Titanium model. It does have the rear hatchback auto opening sensors up behind the rear fascia - do they have to be relocated? Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that both the etrailer # e98866 and Curt # C13186 hitches are both confirmed on all models of the 2019 Ford Escape including the Titanium and I do recommend going with the etrailer branded hitch # e98866 because of the durable powder coating that's used. This powder coating helps prolong the life of the hitch and reduce scratches that might otherwise rust. In most cases the Hands-free Liftgate sensors will be limited to either side of vehicle near exhaust pipes, but it will still function and allow you to use the feature. You will want to touch on either side of the hitch to activate and just be sure to stay away from the area directly next to the hitch.
If you're going to be towing with your hitch, I've linked the trailer wiring harnesses and ball mount kits that will work for your Escape. If you're just going to be using a bike rack on your new hitch, I've gone ahead and linked our entire selection of those as well. You'll also see some installation videos of these hitches that you might find helpful, so we've got you completely covered.
