Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack and the 2015 Subaru Outback

Question:

Question re: Kuat Transfer V2 2 Think I know answer but want to check- the manual says: Dedicated 2” hitch version in the 2 bike configuration can be used on campers, recreational vehicles, or trailers with CHASSIS MOUNTED RECEIVERS ONLY. That confused me....I have a 2015 Subaru Outback with a 2 receiver- will this rack work on my car? I like the fact it can add a 3rd bike rack to it as add on later as I swap between 2 and 3 all the time and it is a lot lighter than the NV. Thanks!

Yes, the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # KU84FR can be used with with the 2" hitch on your 2015 Subaru Outback as long as it meets the tongue weight rating, most 2" hitches will. A Class II tongue weight rating is typically at least 200 lbs and a Class III, at least 300 lbs. Please review the rating for your particular hitch. This carrier is 47 lbs plus the weight of your bikes.

The statement you reference in published specs "... CHASSIS MOUNTED RECEIVERS ONLY" is another positive for this bike rack, a lot of bike racks are not rated for this from the OEM". This can not only be used with your Subaru or passenger vehicles, but also used on motorhomes and travel trailers. Not all bike racks have this rating.
