Equipment Needed to Flat Tow 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hello, Im looking at the Blue Ox Ascent tow bar and base plates for a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I previously got the info for these from you guys. I just want to know what wiring kit Ill need for this. I also plan to use a Roadmaster Even Brake portable supplemental braking system so Ill need that to be incorporated if thats possible.

I'd be happy to run through that for you.
For base plates compatible with the Blue Ox # BX4370 Ascent tow bar, I'd recommend the # BX1128 base plates. The tow bar includes safety cables.
For wiring, I'd recommend a diode system like the Roadmaster # RM-15267.
The Roadmaster Even Brake, part # RM-9400 would be a great choice, it installs in just a couple of minutes and won't require an expensive and time consuming installation. You'll also need the # RM-751449 stop light switch.
Finally, if the installed base plate height is 3 inches higher or lower than the height of the receiver on the motorhome, you'll need a high/low adapter to bring it within that range. I'll link to our selection of adapters, as well as to an article that explains how to determine which adapter you'll need.
