Best Rack to Transport an 8 Foot Boat with a 2011 Ford Ranger
Question:
I have a 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 supercab 4.00L V6 with a naked roof and a canopy. I need to carry a walker bay 8 foot boat which is 51 inches wide at the widest point on gunnel. The boat is about 100 lbs. What would you suggest for roof racks? I dont want to drill holes if possible.

Because your boat is so wide and long, I recommend going with a ladder rack instead of a roof rack.
A good one to use is the Yakima Overhaul HD, part # Y01151-57. They are 60" long aero-style bars, making them compatible with almost any accessories you may want in the future while also cutting down on wind noise and drag. They have a weight capacity of 500 pounds on-road and an adjustable height of 19" - 30".
They don't have to be drilled into your vehicle. Instead, they clamp around your side posts.
