You'll need to start with a brake controller. The Tekonsha P3 you'd looked at, part # 90195 would be an excellent choice. The P3's display and controls are easy to read and understand. If you already have the factory 7-way, all you'll need is the # 3020-P harness.
If the truck doesn't already have a trailer connector, you'll want to check and see if the vehicle is prewired for a brake controller. The connector will be located under the dash behind the emergency brake pedal next to the white junction box mounted to the firewall as shown in the provided photo.
If the plug is there, you'll be able to use the # 3020-P brake controller wiring harness, but you'll need to sever the blue wire in the harness, and attach a length of 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1. You'll run the wire through the firewall and under the vehicle along the driver's side frame rail back to the rear bumper.
If the plug is not there, you'll need to hardwire the brake controller. You'll need our # ETBC7 brake controller install kit and a functioning 4-pole trailer connector which can be installed using part # 118381. The kit includes everything needed to complete the installation but you will need a mounting bracket, part # 18136.
I'll link a video that will walk you step by step through the hardwire installation.
