Will Spare Tire Interfere with Trailer Hitch Installation on a 1978 GMC C/K Series Pickup Truck
Question:
Will the original spare tire and mount still function as intended with this hitch?

Expert Reply:
The Curt trailer hitch # C14082 is designed to attach to the bottom of a 34 inch wide frame on a cab and chassis model 1978 Chevy C/K series pickup. If the spare tire fits between the frame rails then it will not be a problem, otherwise it would need to be relocated or the mount modified. If you do not have a cab and chassis model truck this hitch will not fit. I have linked the instructions for you to view.
I have also linked the other hitches for your truck in case you do not have a cab and chassis model.
If hitch # C14082 will work for you then I recommend ball mount # BWBMHD30010 and pin and clip # PC3. For a 2 inch ball use # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19286. For trailer wiring use # 118311.
