How to Install Aftermarket Brake Controller on 2016 Ram 2500 With Factory Brake Controller
Question:
Can I install this if I have the factory installed ITBM on my 2016 Ram 2500?

Absolutely!
You can indeed install an aftermarket brake controller such as the excellent Tekonsha # 90195 P3 to replace the existing ITBM on your 2016 Ram 2500.
You'll need to remove the dash panel around the ITBM and pull the unit out of the dash, and unplug the connector from the rear. You'd then plug in the # 3024-P into that connector, and plug the other end into the P3.
You will need to take your truck to the dealer to have the computer re-flashed, because once the ITBM is unplugged, you'll get a warning message on the dash display and the controller might not work correctly until the computer is re-flashed. This is a quick and inexpensive process.
I'll provide a link to a demonstration video that explains how the P3 brake controller works.
