Recommended 2 Inch Receiver to Fabricate Receiver for Bike Rack on Off-Grid Trailer
Question:
Hello. I am trying to custom fab a hitch extension for my off grid trailer for an elevated bike rack. The trailer has a 2 reciever on the back. What I am planning is to come out of the 2 receiver follow the Approximately 50 degree angle of the back of the trailer then another angle at the top of the break and weld on another 2 receiver where the Bike rack will mount. I am trying to put togather the correct parts. I think the angle portion will be around 2 feet or so. I will have to measure closet. But what I really need is the other two ends. WHat do you recommend?

It sounds like maybe you need something like the Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver for Custom Fabricated Hitches # E17, which could be welded to the tube you're referring to and would give you a secondary 2" receiver. This receiver does have a 500-lbs tongue weight, but it should be noted that any time you extend a receiver away from the cross tube more than 9" that the tongue weight is reduced by approximately 50%.
I've linked a review video of this part for you to check out.
