When the brakes are engaged, the rotating assembly will stop or slow down depending on the applied pressure. This goes for both forward and backward rotation. To find the right brakes for your axles you will need to get some info off the axles. First measure the width of the lining, distance between mounting holes center to center and the diameter of the brake shoe. Pictures are a HUGE help when we're trying to find the right parts for you.
Another helpful bit of information is the inner and outer bearing number on your axle. This will help identify exactly what you have so we know exactly what parts to recommend!
