Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax

Question:

I have a 2019 GMC 2500 Denali duramax. I put a lift kit on it and the bed rail height is now 60. I want to buy a 5th wheel auto slider hitch that maximizes the vehicle capability. Can you suggest a hitch?

I recommend using the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550037, which has a 21,000-lbs capacity and can be adjusted between 15-1/2 - 18-1/4 inches tall. This is an automatic sliding hitch, so there won't be any need to get in and out of the vehicle each time you need to perform a tight turn that might otherwise have your trailer getting a little too close for comfort to the truck cab. You will need to use the custom installation kit # DM8551010 to provide you with the mounting rails for the hitch, but these are custom designed for your 2500 and will install with limited/no drilling required. Because your truck is lifted, you may need to also lift the trailer to allow you to tow level and still have the minimum 5" between the overhang of the trailer and the truck bed rails- so that's something to consider and you'll want to measure on the trailer.
