Recommended Backup and Observation Camera System for Forest River Sabre and Add-on LED Strip Lights
Question:
I have a 2019 Forest River Sabre rear bunkhouse I want to add flat LED lighting to it. I would like the LED to be underneath on the frame one sides, and under the gutter on top. I am looking for dimmable wireless control and 12V. I want to direct wire it into my 12 system in the storage area underneath with a switch. I am not really seeing anything like this can you assist? Additionally, I want to add the rear camera backup, the wiring and mount are already there can you tell me what system is normally installed by Forest River?

To start, Forest River is typically wired for Furrion camera systems, so backup camera systems like the Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 4.3" Screen # FOS43TASF would be the way to go. This system comes with a single camera and a 4.3" monitor. I actually recommend going with the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ Side Marker Light Cameras - 5" Screen # FCE48TASL-05 which comes with a larger 5" screen and additional cameras that are mounted in the side marker lights. This will give you a much more comprehensive field of view when driving to help you protect your blind spots while towing and is one of our most popular camera and observation systems.
For the LED lights, if you're looking to create your own system with a switch located inside the coach you would want to start with the Optronics Flexible LED Light Strip - Weatherproof - White - 17' Long # UCL90CB; these lights can be hardwired to a switch like the LED Dimmer Rocker Switch - On/Off - Black # 37215225 to provide you with both power and dimming capabilities on this strip. You would then just need to connect the light switch to your power distribution box; you would need some 10 gauge # 10-1-1 or 12 gauge # 12-1-1 wiring (sold by the foot) and some butt connectors like the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 10 # DW05745-10. This would give you the solution you're seeking for the lights that mounts with the adhesive pads on the backs of the strips so there's no drilling required.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out.
