Yes, the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550041 is an automatic sliding fifth wheel hitch so the hitch head will slide back away from the cab automatically while making sharp turns. Therefore, you won't have to get in and out of the truck to engage the slider.
If you want to use this on a 2001 GMC Sierra you'll need the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Universal Install Kit part # DM8552009-71.
