How Does Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Install in 2019 Ram ProMasterer 2500
Question:
What parts are required to install the P3 brake controller in a 2019 Ram Promaster 2500? I found the parts needed for install on a 2015 Promaster. Has this list changed for the 2019 vehicle? I am having a tow package with a 7 pin adapter installed by the dealer. Not sure if that affects the parts needed in any way. I am new to towing a trailer and learning as fast as possible but totally over my head right now, so thank you in advance for not using too much towing jargon! Thank you for your time,

For installing the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 in your 2019 Ram ProMaster 2500 I recommend using part # 5506 to install your brake controller. The # 5506 kit includes duplex cable to run from the controller to the battery. The black wire connects to the positive battery terminal using the included 30 amp circuit breaker, and the white ground wire would attach to the negative battery terminal. The red brake controller wire connects to the brake stoplight switch located at the top of the brake pedal. The stoplight switch will have several different wires exiting it. You will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, and locate the wire that only shows voltage when the brake pedal is pressed. Once you locate that circuit, attach the red wire to it.
You will also need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 from the brake output circuit of the controller (blue wire) to the 7-way connector brake circuit(blue wire). The # 10-1-1 is sold by the foot.
