Question:
How to calibrate my brake controller

Adjusting the P2, # 90885, is easy. Once you have it mounted according to the instructions, linked for reference, you will begin setting up the power output. To do this take the truck and trailer to a flat level surface. Set the controller to 6 with the boost off. Roll the adjustment wheel on the left up or forward (towards the front of the vehicle) to get it to 6.
Then you will drive about 20 miles per hour and fully apply the manual override lever at the bottom (do not use the brake pedal). If the brakes lock up adjust the power down by turning the wheel the other way. If they do not lock up, turn the power up. Keep doing this test until you get the brakes to the point just under lock up.
In addition to the instructions, I have also linked a video review of the P2 and a link to our FAQ article on brake controllers.
