Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers for 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Question:
I have the Tekonsha 90160 Primus IQ Brake Control. Is there a Tekonsha sub harness or Plug-In Wiring Adapter for a 2005 Jeep TJ ? If so I am looking for a part number plz. I would like to plug in directly.

Jeep Wrangler models are not equipped with the under dash connector for installing a brake controller, so there is not a harness that would allow a plug and play installation available, I am sorry to say.
Fortunately, a brake controller can be easily installed using our brake controller installation kit, part # ETBC7. The kit includes an adapter that will convert your existing 4-pole trailer connector to a 7-way. If your Jeep does not already have a 4-pole trailer connector, one will need to be added using part # 118409.
There is a harness available, part # 20127 that plugs into the rear of newer Primus and other Tekonsha controllers. The other end of the harness ends in bare wire leads. The harness can be useful as a quick disconnect if you want to swap the controller back and forth between vehicles that do not have the connector under the dash.
I have linked you to installation details for the ETBC7 and the # 118409 wiring harness. I have also linked you to an installation video showing the install kit being installed on a newer Jeep model. The procedure for your 2005 TJ would be identical.
