Recommended 4 Bike Carrier For Hitch on Rear of 5th Wheel
Question:
18087 bike rack. Can I use this on the back of my Rv fifth wheel. My hitch on the back is a heavy welded receiver?

The Curt # C18087 bike rack isn't designed to be used on the rear of a towable. It's not the strength of the hitch that's in question, it's the bike rack itself. Bike racks used on the rear of a towed trailer are subject to much more battering and bouncing than they'd experience on the rear of a passenger vehicle, and the bike rack needs to be specifically designed for that purpose, or it could come apart during transport which would be bad.
This being said, we do offer a 4 bike option that CAN be safely used in the receiver on your 5th wheel. I'd recommend the Swagman XP, part # S64940. The cradles that hold the bikes will accept bike frames up to 2 inches in diameter. The rack can be used with bikes weighing up to 35 lbs apiece.
I've linked to a product demonstration video featuring the Swagman XP bike rack.
