Recommended Roof Rack And Cargo Carrier For 1999 Chevrolet Express Van Hightop Conversion

I have a 1999 Chevy Express 1500 high top conversion van. Which rack will I need and which cargo carrier would fit it? Thanks : chloe

For your 1999 Chevrolet Express Van 1500 that is a Hightop Conversion I recommend the Inno Roof Rack System that uses 65" Inno Square Crossbars # INB165 and 9 7/8" Tall Inno Feet for Square Crossbars # INMDK that will offer a 132lb weight capacity.

These feet will attach to the rain gutters on your roof, and give you enough additional height to clear the conversion roof. It may be possible to use the shorter 7 1/2" Tall Feet # INSD but you will need to measure from the rain gutter of your roof to the top of the roof to ensure you have enough clearance. I included a picture that shows where the feet attach to for you to take a look at.

For a cargo carrier I recommend the Thule Canyon XT, a Medium Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT which is 49" Long x 40" Wide and can be extended to 69" by adding a 20" Extension # TH8591XT. You can also add a cargo bag like the Rightline Range 3 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100R30 to add onto the basket to protect your gear from the elements.

If you are looking for a covered cargo carrier I recommend the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629906 which offers 22 Cubic Feet of storage space.
