Add Sway Control to Your Weight Distribution
Question:
Will a weight distribution hitch also help with sway control? I have a 2010 Nissan Titan, no sway issues with my 18 foot travel trailer. Moving up to a slightly larger 21 foot travel trailer and wondering if my current load leveling system will help if there were any sway once I get the new camper

Weight distribution systems do help with sway control to some extent. However, that is not their main purpose, so if you are truly concerned about sway control, then a dedicated system is the best way to go.
Reese offers a good one in part # 83660. This uses friction to reduce the amount of sway your trailer has. I've linked to a video review of this bar for you to look at.
The only additional piece you will need to make it work with your trailer is the brackets for the sway control's ball mount. For that, you can use part # RP26003 for 2" balls and part # RP26005 for 1-1/4" balls.
Of course, many weight distribution systems come with sway control already. If you let me know which system you have, I can tell you if this already has one or if there is one that is specifically made for it.
