Weight Distribution Used With Auto-Level Rear Suspension on 2018 Nissan Armada
Question:
I have a 2018 nissan armada SL with the self-leveling rear suspension. We will be towing a 7k camper using an Andersen WDH. The car and trailer sit pretty level, but with the trailer connected we get more bounce and the rear feels soft/loose. Since this car is meant for comfort I believe the stock suspension is pretty soft. will the firestone rite-coils help with the bouncing while towing or is it recommended to get stiffer springs and possible eliminate the self leveling system and get stiffer shocks as well.

The auto-leveling system can make it tricky to set up a weight distribution system, as it can vary the amount of pressure in the system according to the load and suspension movement.
If it's possible to shut off the system and then proceed to set up the weight distribution system for towing purposes, that's certainly the way to go. I checked through the owner's manual, and wasn't able to determine if the auto-leveling suspension system could be deactivated. If that isn't possible, I'd personally consider removing the auto-level system (if possible, you might want to check with your dealer for guidance) and installing the Firestone # F4150. You'd want to inflate the air bags to around half the 35psi max, set up the weight distribution system then set up the weight distribution system. At that point, you can make fine adjustments to the air pressure as needed.
I'd avoid going with stiffer coil springs, as that would impact your ride quality even when you're not towing, which wouldn't be desirable.
