Recommended 7-Way Trailer Wiring Harness for 2005 Nissan Xterra
Question:
Hello, I am looking for a 7 pin wiring harness kit for my 2005 Nissan Xterra. I see you have two different options one from Curt manufacturing and one from Tekonsha. From what I see either one will work in my application. Is one brand better than the other? I would also like to install a brake controller at some point down the road. Will one brand be better than the other considering the controller hook up? Thanks in advance!

Both the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56226 and the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118266 will give you a functional 7-way connector at the rear of your 2005 Xterra and both will allow you to easily install a brake controller later down the road. Between the two brands, I recommend the Tekonsha harness because we have found that many of our neighbors have better luck long term with them. Otherwise, both harnesses install in the same locations and in the same way. I have linked installation videos of each brand of harness for you.
When it comes time for you to install a brake controller, installation will be easy thanks to the pre-wired brake controller port under the dash of your Xterra. One of our most popular brake controllers is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 and it can be easily installed with the custom wiring harness # 3050-P.
