Parts Needed To Replace Missing Lock On Sears Cargo Carrier

Question:

I see three replacement parts listed but I am still unsure if they will work and how to install them. I was given this cargo box and it has no hardware at all where the lock should be. In my brain, I cannot see how the 3 parts fit the place where the lock hardware goes. I cannot find a video on youtube either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will indeed need at least 2 parts which are the Lock # SR03807, and Lock Locator # TH03808, though you will need to reuse your bottom bracket.

The Lock will install in the lock hole in the lid, with the lock locator installing on the back of the lock and will be secured with the included nut. If your lock hole is not 5/8" you will need to use a 5/8" drill bit to enlarge the hole.

The bottom bracket will install on the base of your cargo carrier under where the lock is and is what the hook of the lock will grab when locked. To install the bottom bracket you will need to drill out the rivets holding your current bottom bracket in place, and source replacement nuts, bolts, washers, and lock washers from your local hardware store.

I included a few pictures that show where each part will need to be installed.
