Parts Needed to Add 7 Way Plug to 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I am looking to buy a trailer to pull behind my 2014 Jeep Wrangler JKU. I have the 4plug for lights but need to put on trailer brakes. What all do you recommend for this? Thanks

To add a 7 way trailer plug to your 2014 JKU I recommend using the ETBC7 since it comes with all of the wiring, butt connectors and breakers required to add a 7 way plug. This would be the correct harness if you added your 4 way plug after purchasing your vehicle. If your JKU came with the 4 way from the factory, you can instead use the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket, Chrysler/Dodge OEM Plug Adapter # HM40975-11933, which offers a plug and play option.
Since you'll be towing a trailer with brakes, if you don't already have one you will also need a brake controller. For that I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195, which offers proportional braking for your trailer and has an easy to read LED screen.
I've linked some review and installation videos on these parts for you to have a look at.
