Installing Brake Controller on 2007 Chevy Avalanche
Question:
I have a 07 avalanche with tow pack I have wires under dash I have a white,red with black strip dark blue and light blue what Im confuse with is that the label says dk blue-aux, red-battery,white-ground,light blue-chmsl now how do I connect to the draw tite 5100?

Expert Reply:
Your Draw-Tite # 5100 would connect to the tow package wiring of your Avalanche as follows:
controller red wire to light blue tow package wire
controller black wire to red and black tow package wire
controller dark blue wire to dark blue tow package wire
controller white wire to white tow package wire
The tow package also might have an additional orange wire that is not needed and should be bundled up out of the way. Cover the end of the wire with electrical tape so that it will not contact any metal object under the dash and short out.
