Where to Mount Air Cylinder from Roadmaster InvisiBrake System, Part # RM-8700, in 2012 Honda Fit

Question:

I need the recomended location for mounting the air cylinder for the invisabrake. Im mounting the control box in the rear on top of the spare tire. The length of the cable does not allow the cylinder to be mounted that far back.

Air cylinder placement is limited by the length of the actuator cable; it is important to proper operation that this cable not be required to bend any more than absolutely necessary. Usually a good spot for the air cylinder is under a driver side door threshold; the size and shape of the cylinder often make this location the best option since it keeps the cylinder close enough to both the brake pedal and actuator box. The actuator cable cannot be extended.

Typical installations for the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, part # RM-8700, place the actuator box under the driver seat. This location provides out-of-the-way placement yet still allows ready access to the braking system adjustment knob. The bracket supplied with the kit uses the driver seat mountings for attachment.

I have attached a complete installation video for this product; while this shows installation of this braking system on a different vehicle than yours, the guiding principles for installation will be the same.
