Parts Needed With Least Wiring to Add Brake Controller to 2010 BMW X5 With 4-Way
Question:
Hi, I need to connect an Airstream 7 Pin to a BMW X5 4 Pin and add a brake controller. Can you recommend the correct adapters that only require minimum or no wiring?

The good news is you can add a 7-way and brake controller to your 2010 BMX X5, but there isn't a way to do it without wiring. That said, we can get you the kit with the least amount of wiring possible, and you will be able to do that with a wireless brake controller. The first thing you will need is the wiring kit, the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L.
This kit includes the 7-way and rest of the hardware needed to add a wireless brake controller, and is great because it does not require you to run wiring to an in-cab controller, only to the battery for the 12 volt, which means it is cleaner and with fewer wires than with an in-cab controller.
You will also need a wireless brake controller, the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
The Echo is the easiest brake controller on the market to use, controlled with an app on your smartphone, and will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of your BMW. I have added links below to video reviews for you to check out as well.
