Yes, your 2012 Chevrolet Sonic can be flat towed . There are a few other things you are going to need to complete your flat tow set up.

1. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # BX1703. This baseplate attaches to the chassis of your Sonic to give the tow bar a solid connection point. It has removable tabs to maintain a nice clean look when not flat towing your Sonic

2. Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional Item # BLU37TR. This braking system is a portable unit which is easy to set up and use. It sits in the driver side floor board and applies braking pressure to your Sonic in proportion to the braking in the motor home. It comes with a monitor that sits inside the cab of the motor home and allows you to not only see that the braking system is functioning but allows you to adjust the braking pressure.

3. Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights Item # RM26FR. This kit is designed so you can utilize your factory taillight on your sonic to receive light functions from the motor home. Once installed it remains completely hidden. The diodes protect the factory wiring on your Sonic from back feed from the motor home if there is a wiring issue.

4. Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 10,000 lbs Item # BX7420. This is designed to give you that connection between your motor home and base plate on your sonic.

5. Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass - 13" - 20-Amp Mini-Fuse Item # RM76511. The Sonic requires the DLIS fuse to be pulled once the vehicle is in tow mode. This kit makes it easy so the fuse doesn't have to be pulled each time. A simple flip of the switch disconnects the circuit. Fuse location is number 1 in the fuse panel located to the left of the steering column, lower section of the dash. It is also listed in your owners manual on page 10-36

6.12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps Item # RM-9332. Since a fuse has to be pulled all 12volt power will be disconnected inside the vehicle. The braking system requires a 12 volt outlet. The power for this outlet is supplied directly from the battery and not through the vehicle system.
