Roadmaster InvisiBrake Won't Release Brakes on 2018 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

My 2018 jeep Cherokee has a problem with the invisibrake. Not hooked to the motorhome the brake unit comes on when you depress the brake peddle. It stops the vehicle and wont release for 10, to 15 seconds. I had to pulled the fuse on the unit in order to drive the Jeep. Any thoughts on how to fix.

I reached out to the manufacturer, Roadmaster, in regards to the issues you are having with the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 on your 2018 Jeep Cherokee.

What they told me was that "it sounds like whoever did the install forgot to add silicone to the back of the six-way socket for weather proofing. I would ask the customer if it has recently rained or if they took their vehicle through a car wash. If so they will need to empty the water from the backside of the six way socket by sliding the protective rubber boot back. Once dry I would then add silicone to the boot and close it back up."
