Brake Controller Recommendation for 2010 Nissan Murano with Factory 7-Way
Question:
Good afternoon. I have an 2010 Nissan Murano and need to install a a brake controller for a Scamp 13foot RV-Trailer. Scamp recommended the Tekonsha primus IQ. I have the trailer-hitch with a 7 prong connector. The blue and the black wire from the connector are loose ends at the hitch. Do you have a installation kit to get the signal of the brake switch to the controller, and also the 12V supply to the controller as well as the 12V to the black end of the hitch connector? I also need two breaker for the controller and the black wire feed. Thank you

If you have the 7-way connector from the factory on your 2010 Nissan Murano that means you have the factory tow package which the easiest brake controller solution would be to use the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which will plug right into the 7-way and once synced to your smart phone is ready to tow with.
To install a standard brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR (better option than the Primus) you'd have to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the wires at the brake switch till you find the circuit that only has voltage when the brakes are applied.
