You can tow a trailer with incandescent lights to a vehicle with LED lights. There are only issues on some vehicles when towing a trailer that has LED lights.
What allows you to use a T-connector type of wiring harness like # 118535 on a vehicle with LED tail lights like your 2007 Cadillac DTS is a powered converter. A powered converter gets power for the trailer lights directly from the vehicle battery. It receives the signals from the connections to the tail lights but the vast majority of the power comes from the battery. This allows a trailer with incandescent lights to be connected to a vehicle with LED lights. It also protects the vehicles wiring and electronics.
I have included a link to the instructions for you and and link to an FAQ article with tips on routing the power wire.
