Weight Disrtibution for 2015 Nissan Frontier Towing a 29 Foot Camper

Question:

I have a 2015 Nissan Frontier Pro4X that is rated at 6500lb towing capacity and hitch weight is rated at, I believe 610lbs. I have a 29foot camper that is rated at 5168uvw and hitch weight at 555lbs. The camper loaded weight capability is 2377 ccc but probably will only be loaded to maybe half that capacity at any given time. Weight in bed of truck may only be under 300lbs. Will I require a weight distribution system with sway control or just sway control only? If weight distribution is advised, which of your systems would be advisable for my set up? I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I definitely recommend using a weight distribution system with sway control because of how close you are to the capacity of your 2015 Nissan Frontier. Part # C17499 works for your application. I am concerned with the tongue weight. Your truck is rated for 600 pounds and the trailers unloaded tongue weight is 555 pounds. You need to find your trailers loaded tongue weight using a tongue weight scale like the part # e99044. The tongue weight rating on the weight distribution system is at 800 pounds and the trailer weight rating is at 8,000 pounds. 6,000 pounds is close to the max towing capacity of your truck.

You might need the TruTrack system part # C17500 if you end up maxing out the 800 pound system after looking at your weights with the Better Weigh. It is a good idea to have room either way to adjust so you aren't maxing out the weight distribution system all the time. If you end up using the 800 pound system, you also need a hitch ball since it doesn't include one. Use part # C40008 for a 2-5/16 inch ball or part # A-90 for a 2 inch ball.
