Fit of Curt C93CR Class III Trailer Hitch on 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
Question:
getting ready to order the C93CR and just wanted to double check to make sure this fits the VW cross sport. I took a look at the installation instructions and it speaks to ping the exhaust by removing a bolt and also mentions removing a rubber damper. Is this a use one method or the other or do you need to unbolt and also remove the exhaust damper. I didnt see the weight listed on the hitch and was curious how much this weighs. thanks

Curt confirms that the # C93CR is indeed a fit for your 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118754, a ball mount like # D-4, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, and a trailer ball like # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch.
The exhaust hanger/isolator does need to be temporarily removed, and then reinstalled so that the hitch mounting flange is sandwiched between the hanger and the vehicle frame member.
The hitch weighs in at just under 50 lbs and has a 5000 lb towing/750 lb tongue weight capacity which could be limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle if it's lower.
