Recommended Hitch for 2005 Audi A4 Avant
Question:
Has anyone successfully fit this on a B6 A4 Avant?

I have a solution for you, but the EcoHitch # 306-X7376 is only confirmed to fit on 2018-2020 VW Golf models and not the 2005 Audi A4 Avant. The only trailer hitch we have confirmed for your 2005 A4 Avant wagon is the Curt # 11164, which has a 1-1/4" receiver. If you're planning on towing with this hitch, you'll also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball.
For the wiring harness I recommend using the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT since we've found that Tekonsha harnesses are a bit more reliable over time. This kit installs by clamping onto your vehicle's wiring, so there's no splicing into wires, so it's the most convenient and easy to install option that will provide you with a 4 way wiring harness on your vehicle.
For the ball mount I recommend using the Curt Class II Drawbar - 3-1/8" Rise - 9-1/2" Long - 3,500 lbs
Item # C45510 and either hitch ball # C40018 (for 2" hitch ball) or # A-80 (for 1-7/8" hitch ball). You'll also need a hitch pin, which is available with part # F-4.
I've linked some installation and review videos for you to have a look at, as well.
