Should my Wheels be Locked or Unlocked Using a Tow Dolly

Question:

Hi, I am preparing to seriously get into purchasing a tow dolly to tow my 2014 Honda Civic LX Sedan Automatic. I have read that the steering wheel needs to be left locked and in another article it says it must be unlocked. What is the true answer. Also, how do I determine the tongue weight on the trailer? I am thinking of using dual receiver D210 so that I can use a cargo carrier also. The weight of the cargo carrier with load would not exceed 250 lbs. One consideration I worry about is that the cargo carrier could extend too far back and could hit the towed vehicle during a turn. Is this a possibility. The cargo carrier is about 54inch from receiver connection to the end of the carrier.

The steering wheel in the vehicle can remained locked during transportation when using the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes part # DM9713093.

As far as turning clearance you should have the room you need as the tongue does have good length to it but the only way to know for sure would be to use them together. It is likely you will be able to achieve a decent turning radius if not a full radius.
