Converting Brakes of 1994 Jayco Eagle to Electric Drum
Question:
I am trying to change the hydraulic breaks to electric breaks on a jayco eagle 1994. i need the electrical components and breaks and drums. The current hydraulic drum is 7 X 2 inch, the electric version is 7 x 1 1/4. if I replace the breaks and drum will axle be to long? currently looking at parts Item # 23-47-48, # 8-173-16UC3-EZ # 20099 i am also looking for the wiring for the trailer side

Replacing the hub/drums on your trailer will not change the length of the axle at all. Thankfully the hub manufacturers we carry all have the same overall length for the hubs so there's no need to worry about that. The hub/drum part # 8-173-16UC3-EZ would work great on your spindle as long as it has a diameter of 1.063 inch where the bearings ride. The brake assemblies part # 23-47-48 would fit this as well.
A great way to upgrade your trailer to a 7-way would be with the 7-way upgrade junction box kit part # HS381-9000 that you could use with the breakaway kit part # 20099 as well.
