Troubleshooting Installation of Curt C56267 Where Trailer Lights Do Not Work
Question:
Hey there, I ordered the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector ITEM # C56267 And it isn’t working. I followed all steps on install on video. Plugged the T-connectors to the back taillight. Screwed the ground into the vehicle. Plugged in the red harness to the other harness from vehicle. Added the fuse to the fuse box... I thought it might have been my trailer lights but I had someone else’s truck connect with my trailer lights and they worked fine. I’m stuck and do not know what to do. Am I missing a step? I took a picture of a harness coming from the vehicle. That isn’t hooked up with the new trailer wire. I assume it’s for something else. Thanks

I would start by testing the power wire that you connected that carries the 12v power to the Curt # C56267 harness using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993; this will tell you if there is even power being supplied to the harness, which I suspect might be the cause of this issue.
If you test the wire and it's not giving you 12v of power, you'll need to run a wire up to the vehicle battery with some 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1 and connect it with a ring terminal like the # DW05705-1.
If you find that you are receiving power on that wire, please let me know and I can give you a few other things to have a look at.
