I Need A Bike Rack With A Bike Ramp That Can Be Used To Haul 2 Fat Tire Ebikes Weighing 64 lbs

Question:

Hi Our 4 1/4 inch Fat Tire MATE ebikes are 64 lbs so we need a car ebike car carrier with a loading ramp that can take 130 # or more. I was looking at the Thule Easy Fold but from the reviews I have been reading I dont think two 4 1/4inch fat tire bikes can be loaded on it. Have any ideas?

The rack you need is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR. This rack can hold up to 80 lbs unlike the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV22B which can only hold 60 lbs and that will not work for you if your bikes weigh 64 lbs WITHOUT the battery. Be sure to check and see if your bikes are 64 lbs with the battery because if so, you can use the Kuat NV 2.0 with the Access Ramp # ANVBRB. Between this rack, the Thule EZ Fold XT # TH903202, they are the only racks we carry that have the option for a ramp. These three racks either do not have the weight capacity needed to carry your bikes or they do not support tires that wide. This is why I want you to double check the weight of your bikes without the battery.

Although the Sport Rider SE 2 doesn't have an optional ramp, it is a great bike rack that will allow you to lock your bikes onto the rack which is very nice considering you have bikes that are pretty valuable. The rack also locks to your hitch!

This will give you peace of mind knowing no one can run off with your ride! All in all you will be pleased with this bike rack. It can tilt away so you can access your rear hatch when the bikes are loaded and can fold up to your car whenever you don't have the bikes loaded. I like this just because whenever I unload my bikes in the parking lot, I can go about my ride knowing no one will accidentally hitch the rack because it doesn't stick out that far when it's folded up.

I've included a video of me using a similar version of the Sport Rider SE 2 so you can see how it works. It's pretty much the same rack as the electric fat bike version but has smaller cradles and can hold less weight. Be sure to check that out to see it in action!
