How to Carry 2 Fat Tire e-Bikes on Travel Trailer

Question:

I have two 60lb each fat tire eBikes. I am in search of a rack that would carry them behind my travel trailer. I am also in search for a frame mounted hitch that would support a rack and my two fat tire eBikes.

We likely have options that would allow you to carry those bikes, but unfortunately nothing that would allow them to be carried behind a travel trailer. Due to their less pliant suspensions and longer rear overhang, bike racks installed on a travel trailer will be subjected to much more bouncing and banging than would be experienced if carried on a passenger vehicle. Because of that, they need to be specially designed for that purpose. We don't offer a travel trailer rated rack that can handle the weight of the bikes you mentioned.

All this being said, depending on the year, make and model of your tow vehicle we might have a good solution for you. Many folks that find themselves in this situation will install a front mounted hitch on the tow vehicle and use it to carry the bikes. Front mounted receivers are available for almost all full size trucks, SUV's and Vans. If you'd care to reply with the year, make and model of your tow vehicle, I'd be happy to check for availability and make a recommendation.

If a front mounted hitch is available, you could use the Swagman E-Spec, part # S94FR, along with its fat-tire adapter, part # S64679. The E-Spec can handle 2 fat bikes weighing up to 70 lbs apiece and would be an excellent choice.
