It sounds like you have old import car tires. According to my calculations, the tires you have are approximately 22 inches in diameter with a tread width of about 5-1/2 to 5-3/4 inches. Using tires specifically designed for use on a trailer is recommended, as trailer tires are constructed with stronger tire sidewalls that offer greater stability under load as well as doing a better job shedding heat. Excessive heat build-up and failure to keep the tires inflated to the maximum pressure listed on the tire sidewall are the biggest causes of premature trailer tire failure.
The tires we carry for 13 inch wheels are about 24 inches in diameter and have a tread width of 6-1/2 inches.
A ST175/ 80D-13 tire like part # AM1ST77 is designed to fit a 13 inch wheel between 4-1/2 and 5-1/2 inches wide, and has a load range D with a 1610 lb capacity at 65psi.
