Can Ground Wire of CE Smith Post Guide Ons be Ran to Trailer Frame Easily

Question:

I noticed that the wiring harness furnished with the kit provides a white ground wire for each light assembly. It appears that the white wire extends all the way to, and is incorporated in the trailer/truck connector. My question is...do I have to cut the white wire from the connector and attach ground it to the trailer frame in a traditional manner? Or...does it use the vehicle ground system through the existing connector?

The wiring of the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons # CE27740 is a double bonded wiring setup that you would normally run back to front of trailer. Since it's double bonded though you can separate the wires from each other by pealing them away from each other and then run the ground to the trailer frame wherever works for you and then the power wire to the running light circuit and you'd be set.

A typical small trailer has wires for lighting that are powered by the lighting circuits of the towing vehicle. I have attached a document that shows the wiring for all types of trailers. If you would like to provide me your trailer model and/or your connector type, I can identify the actions of each of the wires.
