Will the Backbone and Platform System Work With a Sunroof?
Question:
2017 Ram 3500 Crew Cab with a sunroof. I cant find any information on the clearance between the bottom of the rack and the roof to see if a spacer kit is needed. Thanks. Will the backbone and platform system work with a sunroof?

The manufacturer recommends not using a sunroof with any rack or platform installed which is why the information you are seeking is difficult to find. The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System - 60" Long x 56" Wide # JB0702 is the correct fit for your 2017 Ram 3500. We have checked with our contact at Rhino Rack and they said that the Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System for Pioneer Platform Rack part # RRRR1B1 which is part of this system is going to add between 2-1/2 and 3-1/2 inches to the height of your vehicle depending on where you measure. The outer portion of the rail is taller than the center to account for the typical shape of the truck roof.
