Is a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch Like BWRVK3775 B&W Companion Needed in 2020 GMC 3500 Long Bed

Question:

Hi I was wondering if this slider would fit in a 2020 GMC 3500 dually with the 5th wheel prep package or if it is necessary to have a slider in a long bed? Thank you

It would indeed fit, but an 8 foot bed would provide enough clearance between the front of the 5th wheel and the rear of the cab, so a sliding hitch like # BWRVK3775 isn't necessary or worth the extra expense. I'd recommend the stationary version of the B&W Companion 20K, part # BWRVK3710. Of course, if you already happened to have the sliding version, you could certainly use it, you'd just want to keep the hitch permanently slid all the way forward in the towing position.

If you don't already have a 7-way installed in your truck bed, you can install one using part # 20110. I've linked to a product description video for the hitch I recommend as well as to an install video for the 7-way connector/harness mentioned above.
